TRX suspension training is becoming more popular in peoples fitness workouts and bealimpetersen explains how TRX fitness has helped changed her lifestyle.
My name is Bea, I’m 27 years old and live in Denmark. Health and fitness is a big part of my life and it means a lot to me to eat healthy and work hard on the way I look, BUT – it isn’t everything! It’s just as important, to be able to go out with friends, drink a glass of wine, eat a burger, or just have fun.
I have always been active but I really got drawn into fitness when I started up training in the TRX.
Before, I used to do a lot of cardio without seeing any big results, but in the summer of 2016 I started training on the TRX, and began to see better results – after that, fitness suddenly became an obsession.
Now I workout 3-4 times, 6 days a week. I do a full body workout on the TRX equipment and the rest of the days, I train cardio, where I do a lot of tabata workouts. (Tabata, is when you workout at a high intensity for 20 seconds and then have a 10 seconds break in between workouts.)
How one of my typical TRX fitness workouts might look like:
- First a warmup, typically on the crosstrainer machine for about 10-15 minutes.
- Hip-press (10 x 3)
- Overhead back extension (10 x 3)
- Chest Fly (10 x 3)
- lunges with weights (10 x 3) on each leg.
- High row (10 x 3)
- Push press (10 x 3)
- Pikes (10 x 3)
- Golf swings (5 x 3)
- Plank (1 minutes x 3)
- Pull ups (10 x 3)
- Dips (10 x 3)
How one of my cardio days might look like:
- Warmup on the treadmill (10-15 minutes)
- Stairmaster about (10-15 minutes)
- 3 tabata with jump-rope
- Different plank exercises
- Different tabatas
- And streching for 15-30 minutes.
How do I stay motivated?
I think that it’s important you don’t get over fanatical about it, as said before I want to be able to have days where I can eat what I want such as pizza, cake, drink a beer or whatever. – Always remember to have fun, both in the gym, but also in life, it is all about lifestyle balance.
Additionally I often workout with friends and this makes the workout a lot more fun, and you can also push each other harder.
Finally, I think it is important to set small goals. For example my goal now is to be able to build my muscle up 🙂 Hopefully, I’ll soon be able to reach that goal and do just that.
