Sleep Yourself Fit

Today’s health and fitness post of Sleep Yourself Fit by shred_1000 explores how important a good nights sleep is, when helping to build and maintain your fitness levels.

Hey Hey! My name is Karmen and I’ve been involved in the fitness industry for over 10 years now. I truly believe that a healthy balance is integral to maintain a mental and spiritual flow. Getting enough sleep is crucial to our better health and wellbeing. A good nights sleep will increase productivity and give you a better mood. You will also experience higher levels of energy throughout the day. A good nights sleep will increase productivity and give you a better mood. I have learned over the years that sleep and exercise have a symbiotic relationship. Between all the tips for curbing sugar cravings, making your crunches count, and boosting your metabolism, there are few aspects that we often miss. It all starts from a good night sleep.

It’s harder to keep your appetite under control when you haven’t slept properly at night since the lack of sleep can throw your hormone level out of whack and increase you appetite and people tend to eat more then they should. Getting enough sleep could mean that you’re alert enough to say no to that sugary doughnut.
You can’t make your crunches count if you have no energy to do them because you haven’t slept enough and your body is tired. A proper good night sleep enhances muscular recovery by speeding up protein synthesis.

It’s easier said than done, since I know many people who are tossing and turning around in bed hours before they can fall a sleep. This is where exercising regular basis comes to play. It will not only help you fall asleep better but also improves the quality of sleep. I prefer exercising early in the morning since it keeps me going and gives me energy for the whole day, which then by the end of the day. makes me tired and ready for bed.

Here are few tips that will let you dream the entire night away…

  • I always set myself a bedtime routine that allows me to sleep minimum 7hours. (Keeping a consistent bedtime will encourage you to get the same amount sleep each night)
  • Create a peaceful sleeping environment. (Keep your bedroom tidy and a relaxing place to sleep)
  • Cut back on your caffeine after 5pm. Why not enjoy a nice cup of caffeine free Miss Yoga Chamomile tea before bed?
  • Don’t eat late at night. (I always plan my dinner 3 hours before my bedtime)
  • Don’t workout 4-5 hours before bedtime. (It will energize your body instead of calming it)
  • Keep your room dark and not too hot.
