Then perhaps this Matcha Gin Sour recipe will help covert you. Matcha has a slow release of caffeine and we all love a bit of gin now and again.
1/4 tsp Tea and the gang Ceremonial grade Matcha
1 tbsp hot water 79oC
60 ml gin
30ml lemon juice
60ml simple syrup
1 egg white
- In a small bowl, whisk together the 1/4 teaspoon Matcha powder with 1 tablespoon of hot water at 79oC until no clumps remain.
- Add gin, lemon juice, simple syrup, matcha and egg white to a shaker. Close and dry shake (without ice) vigorously for 1 minute until frothy.
- Next, add ice and shake again until chilled. Strain into a glass and strain out the frothy egg white on top of the drink.
- Garnish. Dust with matcha powder and enjoy this Matcha Gin Sour drink!
